We are excited to announce that Estate-a-Base users now have access to the Canada Will Registry! The Canada Will Registry integration with Estate-a-Base by DoProcess allows legal professionals to carry out effective due diligence by searching our database of 225,000+ wills.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with DoProcess and launch this new integration. Estate-a-Base is already a powerful and comprehensive estate administration platform. Adding the ability to search the Canada Will Registry will make it even easier for firms to find important estate planning documents."
Patrick Hartford, Founder & CEO, NoticeConnect
The integration allows lawyers to submit a will search query. Our system then takes the search query and compares it against the wills in our database. Using a smart matching algorithm, we identify if anyone has registered a document you're looking for. If a firm has a matching will, they will reach out to you directly within 30 days.
Users will receive a search certificate as proof of due diligence. This certificate verifies that you have taken effective action to search for a missing will. Searching the Canada Will Registry is also disbursable back to the estate.
“We’re excited to further develop our partnership with NoticeConnect. The Canada Will Registry is a great tool that provides our customers a quick, cost-effective way to complete their due diligence in searching for a Will. It’s impressive that it already contains more than 200,000 Wills and of course, that number is always growing.”
Grant Goldrich, President, DoProcess
With this integration, NoticeConnect and DoProcess are providing lawyers and their clients access to the right tools for effective due diligence.
How to Search the Canada Will Registry Within Estate-a-Base
In tab B, click on the Search the Canada Will Registry using NoticeConnect button.
Estate-a-Base will pass the information from these fields in Tab B to NoticeConnect:

- Last name of the deceased
- Date of death
- Date of birth
- Jurisdiction of last residence of deceased
If you miss any of this information, a Missing Information window will pop up. Click Ok and fill in any missing information.
The window below will appear and display all the information that was passed from the fields above to NoticeConnect. You can edit the information in these fields at this point of the search as well.
Next, you will proceed to search the Canada Will Registry with a Combined Registry Search. The Combined Registry Search sends out a Knowledge of a Will notice, as well as checks against our database of 225,000+ registered wills.
